Current
Projects
We have three African churches that we are
investing in at the current time
See the Projects Map
- Lawley
Family Fellowship in Lawley, Johannesburg
- Living
Hope Church in Sunnyside, Pretoria
- Ebenezer
Christian Ministry, in Cullinan
At
virtually any one of these churches, there are needs and ministries
planned to reach out to widows, orphans, and the destitute. We divide
up our projects in three ways:
SMALL
FINANCIAL PROJECTS
- Food
Packs - We regularly assemble food packs with supplies to
feed one person for one month (cost: $25)
- Blankets
- The Johannesburg-Pretoria area is a mile high and children struggle
through winter nights near freezing (cost: $9 per blanket)
- Clothing
- We replace older tattered clothing. You can either ship clothing
here or donate toward clothes.
- Christmas
Party - Each year we gather the names, ages, and genders of
orphans connected with a nearby care centre and have a local church
purchase, wrap, and hand out the gifts at a Christmas party where
the gospel is presented in their own language.
- Bibles
- Most African adults and children who love God have no Bibles.
We use incentives for them to "earn" their Bibles, but
we always need more stock ($8 each)
- Teaching
Materials - Children respond very well to picture-based teaching
like Lukens flannel-graph
PEOPLE
FINANCIAL PROJECTS
We
need godly, well-trained pastors to lead these ministries, but most
African pastors get caught up in either ancestor-worship or Charismatic
excesses. There are two strong full-time, fully-accredited Bible
colleges here, but we need funds to enable these young men to study.
It costs only $300/month for men like Joseph, Thomas, Melusi, Rama,
and Emmanuel to study. Can you help?
CAPITAL
FINANCIAL PROJECTS
- Small
Houses For Orphans - You can contribute the funds to build
a small cement-block house with basic furnishings for several
orphans (cost: $1,700 each)
- Bible
Training Center - We have a property in Pretoria on which
we want to upgrade the garage into Bible college classrooms for
our aspiring African pastors (cost: $2,500)
- Church
Property and Building
- Lawley Family Fellowship needs to build a small church building
and pastor's house on its newly purchased property right away
(cost: $45,000)
- Short-Term
Mission Base Camp - We need a five-acre property north of
Pretoria where a missionary family will live and host short-term
mission teams (cost: $92,000)
